"Flora"

"Flora" is a dance solo  that traces how memory inhabits the body and takes shape.  Time folds into gestures, each one leaving a living trace.

Structured choreography blends with improvisation, allowing the contradictions of human experience to flow freely.

"Flora" is a ritual of presence, where inner silence and unseen forces quietly emerge, and the body bridges the real and the imagined.

"When bodies remember"

"When bodies remember"
an improvisation piece for 7 dancers, by Stella Zannou

Performed at Tanzmit Festival
Potsdamer Platz, 28. August - 13. September 2025

"Everyone here
is a bit of a horse"

This piece is about the fracture that occurs when the warm and tender inner animal looks in the mirror and recognizes its own tormentor: a dog sees a leash, a horse a whip, a bird sees black through an oil film, a teenager sees a future adult.
This piece consists of things that purr, play, bite, enjoy, cry from pain, wrestle, threaten, die from poison, are criminalized, are treated, are mistreated.
This piece resists becoming human, in whatever form that may take.

Concept and Choreography: Vera Shchelkina
Dance and Co-Choreography: Birte Opitz, Marta Ferraris, Marcel Casablanca
Sound Design: Marina Lukashevich
Stage and Costume Design: Maria Färber
Light Design: Andreas Harder

"Paper´s garden"

"Paper´s garden" is a performance that explores how conceptions internalized in educational pathways influence choices and relationships.

Inspired by Montessori thought, it investigates the link between body and intellect: movement generates knowledge, direct experience stimulates autonomy and collaboration.

Hands and gestures shape space, transforming it into a game of fluid interactions, where space and others become mirrors of authentic expression, revealing the connection between individual and collective creativity.

"Tire-bouchon"

"Tire-bouchon" is a dance solo that winds through redundant physical language, tells about a woman who practicing autohypnosis strive to reconnect with her inner voice.

Behind a closed door lies the paradoxes of human existence and a critical judgment that stifles intuition and emotional intelligence.

Inspired by autobiographical reflections, the author explores gestural ambiguity. Can gestures devoid of meaning exist? If so, in what ways can they be misinterpreted?
The choreography integrates various body languages and conceptual researches, creating overlapping of dialectical contrasts.

Disjointed fragments of life, habits and stream of consciusness collide in a permeable and enigmatic dance where the body struggles against form and the mind grapples with an understanding beyond comprehension.
Established patterns may clash, points of view may shift, and the boundaries of the mind may blur.

"Flossen"

"Flossen" it explores the invisible that can appear when observing two organisms in movement, ranging from an impermeable to a permeable way of relating to each other.

The duo highlights what is created in-between them, aiming to transcend the limits to a form of almost telepathy, a seemingly oneness or even aloneness.

Performed with Miriam Ruess at Tanzmit festival 2024

"The Voice of Blood"

"The Voice of Blood" is a dance performance, a visual choreography, and a sonic journey. It centers around the relationship between the spirit and the body that contains it, the veiled mystery of the intangible and the immediacy of the flesh; between personal mysticism and social harmony.

It is also a celebration of the communal utopia of a dreamed matriarchy.
"The Voice of Blood" is the second chapter of a series that reappropriates and reinterprets significant queer female characters. In this case, it revolves around the polyhedric Hildegard von Bingen, a significant mystic, scientist, and composer of the 12th century.
